Founded in 2011 by UC DAAP student + XU marketing MBA, our “Unboxed” do-it-yourself photo shoot approach to event photography was an instant hit. But the recipe for our success involved many parts. It’s one thing to have fun with your friends taking photos at a party. It’s another thing to see the photo instantly and think “Wow…that’s the best photo of me I’ve ever seen”. And it’s something entirely different to know you’re the one who actually took that photo, that you can fit 30 people into the shot, and that the images will be available for FREE, online, professionally processed to perfection….just two days later.

This was cutting edge stuff in 2011. The model yielded an amazing guest experience and massively viral social media content (Facebook was a new thing back then…and boy did we pump out the profile pics by the hundreds). Content that brands wanted to sponsor. It took us from the bars and clubs into the fundraiser scene, then onto weddings and corporate events…eventually onto the big leagues: Brand Activations.

Along the way, we dabbled with green screen technology du jour, three different printers and nine different software sets for “instant” sharing, but none of them could cut the mustard when it came to photo quality. I mean…who wants an “instantly” crappy picture? Not us. We’d built a business around photo quality and guest experience, and weren’t about to let a webcam kiosk lower the bar we’d raised. We were all about the experience, and wouldn’t budge from the brand we’d built.

As time (and over a thousand events) have gone by, the technology DID eventually catch up to the market demand for higher quality combined with instant sharing  (via text, email, print…and now QR).

Over the last few years, we’ve welcomed our two newest family members: The Infinite, and the Halo. Award-winning designs powered by stable software sets in partnership with the greatest event photo minds around the world. With these, we’ve been able to say YES to clients who hire us for our professionalism, experience and quality yet demand faster, more social-media trendy (GIF, boomerang) content. Beyond that, we’re still able to create and load our own custom filters (including surreal AI filters + face swap), which help us keep a leg up on the competition while maintaining our brand standards.

In a market where photo booth software has become a now become a commodity…our experience, image quality, and creativity ARE NOT. With flocks of overnight “professionals” flooding the event scene, we have one response: Seeing is Believing.

LET OUR PHOTOS DO THE TALKING 😉

We hope you enjoy our work, and enjoy your work, too. Enjoy the process of planning events that create memories…because that’s what life is all about. The process. The experience. The memories we make, cherish, and share with one another.

To the Journey,
